NAPERVILLE APPROVES "SMART GRID" FOR $11 MILLION WHILE CUTTING POLICE AND AMBULANCES. And ... FY2010 shows $11 Million shortfall in city budget. In the meantime, the city has just announced cuts in ambulances and police.
Smart Grid includes putting monitoring devices on your homes to record every minute of energy usage. It is still unclear if this is voluntary participation or not.
